Thou Shall Not Pass
Klaus Peter, 1960-2011
We are sorry to share with all the MyWorld Tuesday and Skywatch Friday participants news of the passing our friend and fellow blogger Klaus Peter. Klaus was an active participant, supporter, and eventually owner/maintainer of Skywatch and the founder of That's My World. He loved nature, photography, and sharing his knowledge and beautiful images with us all. We can't begin to say how much we will miss him.
Today's post on his blog, Virtua Gallery, featured this photo which he titled "Thou Shall Not Pass." It is a fitting tribute and farewell to him, and in his honor we will publish My World Tuesday with the words and graphics Klaus always used. I hope you will join me in dedicating this week's posts to Klaus.
Update August 20,2011
Sandy, Sylvia, and Wren have decided that this memorial will be the last My World post. My World was Klaus's baby, and to continue without him doesn't seem right. We will continue to remember and to miss him even as we know he can never be replaced.

What a shock.
And he was so happy with his life in Florida. And no age really. Sad, sad.
I am sorry to hear that Klaus passed away. He was far too young. His photos were so outstandingly beautiful.
I entered That's my World but don't see any others.
I don't have any details. I just heard myself from mutual friends on facebook.

I am very sorry to hear the sad news
How nice to honor Klaus in this way. I met him only through his spectacular photographs of wildlife that were always infused with incredible clarity and exhibited artistic realism at its finest. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. What a great body of work he left behind.
I am so saddened to read this. His photography has lightened my heart through the years with it's unparalleled captures.
Sorry to read about the sad news. Such a shame.

Wren -- You couldn't have chosen a better photo than this one in memory of Klaus.
It is so sad to think of such a good man and such a wonderful talent leaving at a comparatively young age.
I'll never forget the encouragement Klaus gave me when I was feeling discouraged about my own photos.

My condolence to Klaus's family. When I read he was born in 1960, I had to read again. So young, what a loss.

For Klaus:
'Blow if you will, fall wind...
the flowers have all faded.'
I am so sorry to hear of Klaus's passing.
You've written a heartfelt tribute to your friend which we can all appreciate.Having touched many lives, Klaus will long be remembered by many of us...
Shock! Sad! He was too young...
Dear Team,
With Klaus in the Next World now, I can understand your reasoning to close That's My World.
Thanks for all you have done these past years.
Shalom,
Dina
Actually, I do not think it's a good idea to close this meme and did not agree to the update on this blog. I think My World should cary on.
With all respect at this sad time, I do believe that Klaus' memory would be better served by letting this meme continue. In that way, we can remember him every week when we post.
By closing this meme, our memories of Klaus will also come to an end. And that would be such a shame.
It is so sad and feels empty. Where will we go now my World Wide Friends?
If you want - you are most welcome to my Photo Challenge place:

I started World Wide Friends to keep up the good work Klaus Peter started <3
Having just found this site, I did not know Klaus or anything about him, but I see the sadness that has been caused by his passing.
I had just started a Blog specifically to post here so I was very disappointed to find you have decided to close it down. I personally feel that is a great mistake. Obviously Klaus had a great many followers, and to keep his site going would have been a much better memorial and tribute to honour his work and his name.
Klaus, a man who will be much missed, a kind generous man, he helped me when my computer was messing up and other times when I had a problem. His photography was second to none, specially the photo featured.
It was a big shock to hear he is no longer with us and also that My World is also finished. Very sad.
I have been away for a while and come back today to see Klaus gone. Best regards to his family, it was too soon for him to leave.
For those who knew him IRL, what would he have us do?
Please keep posting comments here and don't forget Klaus!
I am so sorry to hear about Klaus's passing today. My deepest condolences to his family. Thank you very much for the notification and meaningful tribute.
blessings and love and much strenght .. and some good hearts around the rest family .. in thoughts with you ...
Very sad news. I have been away on holiday and only just found out. Thank you, Klaus, for all you have done for blogging and for bringing us together.
My World and Sky Watch were wonderful creations and brought so many interesting photos and blogs to my attention.
It would have been a great tribute to Klaus for these to continue as a permanent reminder of him, rather than let them fade away.
What a shock. Sorry to hear about the sad news. My condolences to the family of Klaus Peter and may he rest in peace. will pray for him and his family.
one of my blogs did joined this meme before...sad to hear about his passing..my prayers and condolence to his family and may his soul rest in peace. God bless!
Ruby

Happy new days.
Happy new dreams.
Happy New Year 2012 :))

Klaus photos were stunning and remarkable. What a sad loss.
I think it would be a greater tribute to Klaus to continue on with My World. It brought people together from all over the world with the chance to glimpse into other places and lives. What an education My World has provided to all of us. Please consider re-opening My World. Losing Klaus was a tragedy - losing My World too is a tragedy as well.
