My World Issue III

Welcome to the 3rd edition of MyWorld! Our thanks to all of you, who made this new Meme an instant success!

We added the followers Widget - that helps you to keep tabs on new MyWorld posts at the bottom of each page!

And more good news! Louise - which you all know from her site and the nice comments, she so frequently leaves on all of our photo blogs, has joined the Skywatch and MyWorld Team! Thank you and welcome to the Team! And to make this introduction complete - she will be doing todays Intro!

From Albuquerque, New Mexico - Louise!

The mountains for Albuquerque, New Mexico are the Sandia Mountains. From the base to the peak runs the world's longest tram. Lots of visitors to our area take the tram to the top of the mountain to see the view. It is much faster than driving up the other side of the mountain. (And much more expensive!) It is also transportation for skiers, hikers and those seeking the restaurant at the top.

When I am on the top of the mountain, I am always amazed at the different world up there. I live in the "high desert." The mountain has very tall evergreen trees, gets rain and is most of the time (definitely not always) about 30 degrees cooler than my house. If it is not cloudy, I can pinpoint the area where my house is. It is so hard to believe it is so close; it seems like the other side of the world.

Umm... didn't see the "add your country" bit until after I'd clicked Mr. Linky, but most people probably know I'm in Raleigh, NC, USA... I'll try to remember next week, eh?

Louise, it's been years, but I did take the tram ride to the top of the mountain when I was in Albuquerque. I'm glad to know it's still there. And I'm still looking for an excuse to go back there.

i hate heights, but cable cars do fascinate me, how the hell do they construct them way up in the air? Lovely views and thanks again for this great new blog. Regards.
